Road Closure Scheduled on U.S. Highway 16A in Keystone

KEYSTONE, S.D. – Beginning Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, U.S. Highway 16A in Keystone will be closed at the intersection of U.S. Highway 16A and S.D. Highway 40 for a bridge replacement project. A detour for the closure will be provided.

Traffic will be controlled with temporary traffic signals during the closure. A 12-foot width restriction and 50-foot length restriction will be in place for the duration of the closure. Highway 16A is scheduled to be reopened by April 2027.

The primary contractor for this $2.2 million project is Complete Concrete Inc. of Rapid City, SD. The overall completion date is Friday, May 21, 2027.
